Matt Corzine

Executive Director

As Executive Director of the WNC Futures Fund, Matt Corzine is committed to strengthening Western North Carolina’s nonprofit ecosystem by aligning philanthropic resources with impactful, community-driven solutions. With a deep-rooted passion for social impact, Matt leads the fund’s efforts to support organizations tackling critical regional issues, from environmental restoration to economic mobility.

Before founding the WNC Futures Fund, Matt served as President of GSA National, where he spearheaded strategic growth initiatives and advised nonprofit clients navigating complex government contracts and fringe benefit regulations. His leadership in the corporate sector has always been mission-driven, emphasizing operational excellence, innovation, and sustainable impact.

In addition to his role at the WNC Futures Fund, Matt co-founded FastRoots, a venture dedicated to empowering grassroots organizations through technology-driven solutions for funding and organizational management. His multifaceted experience—spanning executive leadership, business development, and philanthropy—positions him as a bridge between the nonprofit and corporate worlds, ensuring that resources are deployed strategically to maximize long-term community benefit.

Rachel Durchslag

Strategic Advisor

Rachel Durchslag has been a dedicated leader in the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors, serving on the boards of numerous organizations that uplift and empower communities. She has held leadership roles with The Dreamcatcher Foundation, Helios Warriors, The Breathe Network, Mamma Maisha, and Nathan Cummings Foundation, furthering her commitment to social justice and community-driven philanthropy.

Rachel’s passion for advocacy spans childcare rights, reproductive choice, homelessness, and anti-trafficking efforts. She is the founder and former executive director of the Chicago Alliance Against Sexual Exploitation (CAASE), where she spent seven years leading efforts to combat sex trafficking and sexual violence in Chicago.

Beyond her advocacy work, Rachel is an avid hiker and world traveler, having spent the past five years trekking some of the world’s most breathtaking mountain ranges. She also works in the healing profession, offering alternative therapies that help individuals recover from trauma and cultivate greater joy in their lives.

Rachel is the author of While I Walk: Solo Adventuring in the Vast, Beautiful World and the children's book Star and Her Light.

Rachel cherishes her community of friends, the meaningful work she does with clients, and the joyful companionship of her mischievous dog, Luna.
